Introduction

Starting my journey in WordPress was never just about creating websites — it was about building a skill that could support me in side income, personal growth, and creative expression. I was always passionate about writing and reading different articles, and with time, this interest shaped into learning how to create a professional blogging website. That’s when I decided to dive into WordPress.

How It All Started

My first interaction with WordPress came through Promoteez International Training Institute, but even before that, I had an idea about WordPress dashboards from a previous LWE course where I learned the basics of localhost setups. The real turning point was when I started working with Elementor. My trainer guided me step by step, and with her mentorship, I successfully completed my first tasks. Seeing her satisfied with my progress gave me confidence that I was moving in the right direction.

First Websites & Hands-On Practice

Although my initial projects were client-based rather than personal, they became my real classrooms. My trainer assigned me client websites to design in Elementor, and later, I created my own portfolio site. I also attempted a blog site using tools like SEMRush for keyword data and plugins from Envato.
Some of the key tools and plugins I worked with included:

  • Elementor & Elementor Pro

  • RankMath for SEO

  • Classic Editor

  • Contact Form 7

  • Google Site Kit

  • MonsterInsights (Google Analytics for WordPress)

These projects were a mix of business sites, portfolio designs, and blog experiments, all of which gave me diverse exposure.

Challenges Along the Way

The journey wasn’t smooth. One of my toughest struggles was mastering SEO. I remember spending 5 consecutive days, 3–4 hours daily, just practicing and trying to understand optimization techniques. Another big challenge was fixing mobile responsiveness issues, especially headers and layouts. At times, it felt overwhelming — but with continuous practice and the constant guidance of my mentor, I overcame these hurdles.

Growth & Achievements

After years of effort and learning, today I can confidently say: “Yes, I can build a professional website for clients.”
So far, I have worked on around 5 websites. While my WooCommerce experience is currently limited to product uploading and minor adjustments, I have gained strong feedback on my WordPress projects. One of my proudest moments was receiving excellent reviews for Adnan Sohail Sir’s website, which truly motivated me to keep improving.

Skills I Gained

Throughout this journey, I have sharpened both my technical and soft skills:

Technical Skills:

  • WordPress CMS Management

  • SEO Optimization

  • Plugins & Themes Integration

  • Security & Performance Optimization

  • Analytics & Tracking Setup

Soft Skills:

  • Patience & Perseverance

  • Problem-Solving Mindset

  • Creative Thinking

  • Effective Client Communication

Lessons Learned

This journey taught me that challenges and negative remarks from people don’t define your path. What truly matters is patience, practice, and persistence. Failures and difficulties will always come, but if you stay focused and keep learning, success will follow.

Today, I look back at my struggles with pride — because each hurdle shaped me into the WordPress blogger and website creator I am today.
